Rehabilitative Services are Key to Healing & Preventing Re-Injury
At LifeWorks Integrative Health our top priority is to help you regain your health and physical ability. We have helped many patients return to their best possible physical condition after a sports injury, work-related injury, and other orthopedic issues. Our dedicated staff is here to help you heal.
When you first come to our office, you’ll find our enthusiastic medical and support staff are committed to helping you get healthy again. We’ll take the time to get to know you, understand your health concerns, record your health history, and get to the bottom of your health issues.
First we determine the underlying cause of your pain. Then we’ll work to correct those issues through various therapies, including rehabilitation – the next logical step on your path to health and wellness.
Physical rehabilitation services can help heal many painful conditions:
- Spine injuries
- Neck injuries
- Neuromuscular disorders
- Chronic pain
- Joint injuries
- Trigger point pain
- Sports injuries
- Knee Pain
- And more!
And here’s another good thing… You’ll never be rushed out of our office so we can move on to the next patient. In fact, we’ll probably take more time with you than any other physician has before. Now that’s patient care!
Individual Attention, Customized Rehabilitation
Once we determine the cause of your pain and chronic symptoms, we’ll develop a rehabilitation plan to help you regain as much physical ability and range of motion as possible.
We’ll create specially designed exercises and stretches to help rebuild and strengthen your muscles – and avoid pain. Your exercise program can be built with any or all of the following purposes in mind:
- Improve balance
- Increase strength
- Improve flexibility
- Boost range of motion
Here’s what happens when you have an injury:
When you first become injured – whether it’s your arm or leg, hip or back – you immediately begin to accommodate for that injury. You may favor the other arm or leg, you may walk with a limp or you may lean to one side when you walk. These are all natural ways that we use to compensate for pain or discomfort.
So while your body is adapting to that injury, certain muscle groups are actually being overworked to compensate for the injury. The muscles you would typically use weaken, and the surrounding muscle groups become tense due to overuse. This sends your whole body out of balance and into an improper posture. If this pattern continues without being addressed, you will undoubtedly suffer other long-term effects.
Your Rehabilitation Therapy Program
Through rehabilitative services, you are allowed to play an active role in your own recovery. You’ll have the opportunity to invest in your physical outcome. And you can be an active collaborator with your LifeWorks Integrative Health team as your body regains health and vitality.
Rehabilitative services, or Rehab Physiotherapy, is an ideal solution to problems concerning your connective tissues in the musculoskeletal system. At LifeWorks Integrative Health, we use manual therapy with hands-on, therapeutic methods designed to improve blood flow, promote relaxation, and assist in healing your injured areas.
We may also suggest other ways that you can take an active role in a healthier outcome:
- The at-home application of heat or ice (sometimes alternating both) can help reduce pain and inflammation and increase mobility in between each visit.
- Your therapy may be augmented with natural pain management methods, such as topical creams.
