Dr. Corey Priest
Dr. Corey Priest has been married to his wife Stacey since 1998 and they enjoy their two boys ages 6 and 15. The fifth member of the family is their beloved Great Dane, Aggie. Corey grew up in the Kansas City area graduating from Raytown High School in 1993. He then went on to earn a Pre Med degree with the intent of becoming a surgeon, but after realizing his philosophical approach to healthcare aligned more with the profession of chiropractic medicine he continued on to Logan University in Chesterfield, MO where he completed his chiropractic training in 2001.
Certifications Dr Priest holds are: Doctorate of Chiropractic from Logan University, Candidate for Chiropractic Board of Internists, Certified through the Oklahoma State Board in Injectable Nutrients for IV therapies and Chelation therapy, Certified in Acupuncture – 100 hour Post-Graduate Study, Certified Injury Prevention Specialist – Future Industrial Technologies, Certified in ART (Active Release Technique) Spine and Upper Extremity, Certified in Advanced Training and utilization of sEMG/Thermography/Digital Algometry, PCG (Pedorthic Consulting Group) course work - Advanced Biomechanics and Gait Analysis. He is currently obtaining certification as Institute of Functional Medicine Certified Practitioner (IFMCP).
After graduating with his doctorate, he immediately began practicing in Independence, MO where he recognized functional medicine was his passion. He began digging into the concept of Functional Medicine studying it constantly (still does) and never looked back after 17 years. It is hard work to stay ahead of the curve for our patients in such a rapidly evolving field, but he is passionate about excellent functional medicine which requires continuous learning.
Dr. Priest has an extreme passion for health and wellness. He loves experiencing healthy foods and being active. Over the past 2 years he has become passionate about Triathlons, competing in 5 races in 2015 and 7 races in 2016 (completed first full Ironman in 2016). He coaches his son’s competitive baseball team with a desire to be part of helping coach and develop young boys into great men. He loves anything that requires activity outdoors, including triathlons, swimming, biking, running, golfing, wakeboarding, skiing and snowboarding, riding my motorcycle, building things (anything), landscaping and working in the yard. He is proud that his biggest achievement (as cliché as it may sound) is having two healthy fantastic fellas, and watching them grow into extremely respectful, healthy boys. Dr. Priest aims to model for his boys his commitment to his family while demonstrating that hard work in career and hobbies offers positive investment in the surrounding community creating something bigger than yourself.
“Everyone deserves the opportunity to be free of ill-health and to live a life of wellness and vitality.”
